Faye — Sovereign of the Fifth Kingdom, daughter of Queen Gwendlynn, heir to the Root of Magic — is the name an entire age was built around, and the name that age still cannot explain.

Raised in Magicia to rule, she might have been remembered as nothing more than a careful queen-in-waiting. Instead she became its conscience. In the years the histories now call the Times of Faye, she stood before a divided world and argued the unthinkable: that Earth and Magicia, severed for a thousand years, could be made whole again. What she uncovered in the dust of forbidden archives changed her — a fragment older than the Severance itself, a truth the ruling Accord had spent generations burying.
